Blake Heckendorn is a Mechanical Engineer with Ecotype Consulting where he assists with LEED documentation, technical building analysis, green specifications, building energy models, and peer reviews.

Mr. Heckendorn earned his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2011 from the University of California, Davis. He earned his Professional Engineers license in 2015.

Mr. Heckendorn’s experience in the energy field gives him a well-rounded view of the whole system, from idea to implementation to commissioning to verification. As an engineer, he knows the delicate balance between efficiency and functionality. Mr. Heckendorn understands that projects must be exceptionally efficient and environmentally friendly while keeping budget and practical application in mind. He worked as a commissioning agent and understands how various complex systems operate and that issues with those systems require simple solutions paired with adequate maintenance staff training.

Mr. Heckendorn got into energy efficiency out of college and has since strived to provide environmentally friendly solutions to all problems presented. He is passionate about both promoting and living a green lifestyle and takes environmental factors into every decision he makes.

Mr. Heckendorn has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2013 and is a member of the USGBC. He is the only person in the office who wears a tie.
